History:
Don Wright was a crusading journalist who owned the Daily Bulletin paper. He decided to make news, rather than just report it. He fought crime and spy rings within the United States as the costumed hero, Capain Freedom.

 

Equipment and Abilities:  
Captain Freedom seemed to possess Superuman strength and agility, and was extraordinarily tough. He could push over a truck, or leap down a 4 story building and crush a car, while remaining relatively unhurt. He also seemed to be able to dodge bullets with relative ease.

 

SUPPORTING CAST:
Young Defenders
The Young Defenders included Lefty, Slim, Joanie and Beanie (originally "Whitey"). They were a group of young paperboys who worked for the Daily Bulletin. They were friends with Don Wright and Captain Freedom, but never realized they were on in the same person. Joanie and Slim briefly dated, but Joanie's crush on Frank Sinatra ended that realtionship.
