Hendricks was a good friend of Bart Hill, during his time in the U.S. Army Air Corps. The two of them managed to save each other's lives on more than a few occasions. When Hill needed his alter ego, Daredevil, to be in more than one place at a time, he trusted in Hendricks to help him. Hendricks donned the Daredevil costume and found himself battling the supernatural menace known as The Claw. Hendricks was nearly killed by the demon and after witnessing what The Claw was capable of, he decided to devote his life to stopping such threats to civilization, using a heroic identity unique to himself. Having been presumed dead on more than one occasion, he became "The Ghost."

Equipment and Abilities:
The Ghost is an ace fighter pilot who has designed and built his own custom fighter jet, which is called "The Ghost Ship." In addition to his skills in the air, The Ghost is a skilled acrobat and fighter. He usually carries lengths of steel cable which he uses to climb, swing and repel, in a manner that almost seems like flight. The cable can also be used to lasso and tie up opponents. The Ghost has also been known to carry smoke grenades, concussion grenades and large canisters of tear gas which are effective against The Claw. His skull mask is equipped with a voice modulator, an air filter, infrared lenses and a targeting display that syncs with his plane. Although the name, "The Ghost" originally referred to his stealthy tactics, and wraith-like vengeance, a reasonable update on the character might also see him equipped with technology that allows himself and his plane to phase through solid matter.

Professor Bernhard Bloodcut
A brilliant German scholar who defected to the United States just before World War II began. He was well versed in physics, chemistry, biology, history and the occult. He was enlisted by the Ghost as a consultant on his missions. Professor Bloodcut helped the Ghost build his Ghost Ship, and also figured out how the Ghost could kill his nemesis, The Claw. Professor Bloodcut was a small, elderly man, but he was not afraid of a fight, and was rather proficient at hurling books at people.
First Appearance: Daredevil Comics #16

Notes:  "The Ghost" is the name of a comic that was produced by Dark Horse Comics, about a superhero of the same name. Marvel and DC Comics both own villains named "The Ghost" which precede the Dark Horse character. There are numerous other characters named "Ghost" and a well known movie called "Ghost." The point is, the name may be trademarked by someone, but it has been a while since a "Ghost" comic was published.
