History:
Joan was a reporter for the Daily Star, who visited Liberty Island one afternoon and fell asleep on a park bench beneathe the statue of liberty. She dreamed that the statue came alive and spoke to her, granting Joan the power to defend America. When she woke from her dream, Joan discovered that she had amazing supernatural powers, which seemed to allow her to do almost anything. She put these abilities to use, fighting crime and the enemies of the United States.

 

Equipment and Abilities:  
Although Miss America's abilities seemed to allow her to manipulate matter around her in almost any concievable way, it might be that these powers are simply a combinatin of telekenesis, telepathy and hypntoic suggestion, causing her opponents to believe she has performed feats such as making objects materialize out of nothing. Telekenesis could be used to explain many of her feats, including her ability to fly.

 

SUPPORTING CAST:
Tim Healy
Tim was an FBI agent, who didn't always have the best of luck on his cases. After Joan brought several men to justice, Tim invited her to join the FBI. After becoming frustrated with the ego and chauvanism of her editor at the newspaper, Joan took Tim up on his offer and became his partner.
